LITEN SKÖRD
IKEA proposes two proposals in which you can participate, taking the concept of Democratic design (5 premises: low price, form or design, functionality, quality and sustainability) as a starting point.
The two categories are:
- Sustainable cuisine.
- Protection for children.
In this case option A (sustainable cooking) has been chosen: product that helps save, a way to organize household waste, etc.
In the video you can see part of the prototyping process.
In collaboration with Emma Villá, and Júlia Ferré.
Inspired by a kitchen for children, the stoves have been replaced by a growing area.
The very thin material (veneer type) and the holes in it to make it porous make this small space ideal to fill it with dirt and cultivate all kinds of vegetables.
A simple plastic tray is included under the porous surface so that the soil that can fall from the holes or water is deposited on it and does not fall to the ground, since it is a product designed so that it can be both inside and outside the home, as long as you have a few hours a day of sunlight.
The metal bar at the top holds 3 hanging pots of lesser volume designed to plant some species, to start with 4 bags to plant species that do not require much maintenance.

As accessories, some graphics are proposed that are nailed to the ground with a plastic support to differentiate which vegetables are planted in each area and at the same time attractive to the public, in this case the children.

There are differentes measures.
