ToRide

ToRide is one of the works done in the university of which I am most proud. Together with two colleagues from the degrees, we find a hole in the market. We discovered that people with different disabilities in the upper limbs could not ride a bicycle in a comfortable, safe and especially cheap way (personalized bicycles are very expensive).

Thus came the ToRide project, which consists of the design of 3 different modules that adapt to the handlebar of any bicycle. This allows the user to adapt the height, angle and depth with which he needs to grip the bicycle. On the one hand, there is a customizable cuff that allows the user to grip the handlebar of the bicycle in a more comfortable and ergonomic way. On the other hand and following the same process of customization, there is an adaptation for stumps. Both adaptations would be built using HP's MultiJet Fusion technology.

Throughout the work, not only current products and users were investigated, we also study materials, manufacturing methods and we verified that the product resisted the necessary forces. Finally, to simulate how the client would be reached, a web page was made, where you can find the different options of ToRide, as well as the necessary measures to customize each module.

At the end of the design, which was designed so that people with different upper extremities could ride a bicycle, it was noted that the product not only served for bicycles, also serving for scooters or for people who wanted to go more upright on the bike, either back problems good for comfort.
